AN ANALYSIS OF LEARNING ENGLISH BASIC STRUCTURE THROUGH PICTURE WORD INDUCTIVE MODEL IN DEAF COMMUNITY

The need for each individual to communicate is a embodiment of the existence of individuals as social beings. One's ability communication skill is an absolute necessity that must be met in their efforts to self-actualize. Communication that exists in every dynamics of human life is an absolute prerequisite to be able to make adaptations. 
In the dynamics of communication between individuals, of course the diversity of conditions Individuals can be a contribution to the effectiveness of a communication awakened. An absolute requirement for communication that meets perfection the receptors (senses) are the determinants of good communication. However, the problem is that not all individuals have perfection of development in physical and psychological aspects. In a child who have limited communication skills due to barrier Psychological and physical development certainly causes differences in communication styles for them.

As individuals, interpretations that occur in the surrounding environment sometimes make such treatment discriminatory should be eliminated because they have the same opportunity, desire and concern in socializing. Please note that the conditions for someone with special needs need receive equal treatment regarding their right to self-actualization.

Therefore, to be able to convey ideas, thoughts and feelings to others, someone with special needs media to express it in writing. By writing one can tell something that can be seen, felt and heard. Calhoun (1999) has develop a Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM), using photos or large images containing objects to produce words from sources the photo/image. PWIM is designed to take advantage of the capabilities someone to think inductively.
Previous research on the use of PWIM in learning reading and writing has been widely practiced and proven effective at all levels learner age. This research is interesting to do because PWIM which will be implemented in a community with special needs has not yet been done before. With this research, the proposing team assumes that the PWIM learning model can help communities in need specialized in acquiring foreign vocabularies and arranging them in sentences structured more easily and pleasantly.

English is a very broad international language its use. As an international language, English is used as an international language means of communication between countries that have different languages. The language difference between countries will not be a barrier because of The international language of communication is English. In Indonesia, learning English is part of the local content of foreign language learning in Indonesia various regions (Musthafa, 2010). This is done in order to encourage the learners to become part of the world community. However, the mastery of English by learners in Indonesia has not been very effective with various obstacles faced by the learners (Megawati, 2016). This is a challenge as well as an opportunity for teachers or instructors to be able to continue to innovate in finding the best method that helps learners to master English.

In learning English, there is one important aspect that must be considered mastered by the learners, namely the mastery of the basics of English grammar especially in terms of arranging the right sentence structure so that the language function English as a communication tool can be fulfilled (Kaharuddin, 2018). Compilation The right sentence structure is very important to be able to guarantee the message that will be delivered conveyed to the interlocutor or reader is in accordance with what you want delivered by the speaker or writer (Sermsook, Liamnimitr and Pochakorn, 2017).

In English, the structure of the sentence must be at least contain a subject and a verb, or a subject and a predicate (Azar and Hagen, 2009). The subject is the topic being discussed, it can be people, animals or things. In general, the subject in a sentence is known as the "doer". A predicate is something that explains the subject in a sentence, or can said, something that is done by the perpetrator (subject). Sentence structure (basic structure) is a collection of several constituent words that form a sentence. By studying the structure of the English language, we can distinguish which sentence has the correct word constituent arrangement and which sentence mana wrong.

Writing skill in English is one of the skills that are difficult for students to master. One of the causes is the use of learning strategies that are not appropriate or not appropriate (Ariyanti and Fitriana, 2017). Learning strategies have a very important function in learn writing skills. Using the right strategy in writing can make it easier for children to understand in understanding a text and improve creativity and skills in writing.

Picture Word Inductive Model is one of the learning strategies that has a definition that is a teaching approach for learning to read and write using pictures containing objects, familiar actions, or events to provoke students remove words from students' own vocabulary during learning (Calhoun, 1999). This learning model has proven to be effective in improving learner's ability in four aspects of learning English (Conscience) (Nurani and Rosyada, 2017; Rosyada, 2018). The PWIM learning model is also proven effective in learning Basic Structure at the higher education level (Rosyada and Febriyanti, 2020).
According to Winarsih (2010), states that the deaf are people who have a partial or complete loss or lack of hearing ability wholly caused by the malfunction of part or all of the equipment hearing, so that the child cannot use the instrument hearing in everyday life. Condition of learner with this deaf requires a special learning model from teachers according to with the learning context of these learners (Winarsih, 2014).

Based on the definition above, it can be concluded that what is meant by deaf students, namely any person or individual who has lost the ability listening so that it hinders the process of language information through communication hearing, whether or not wearing a hearing aid his hearing limit is sufficient to allow the success of the process language information through hearing. This hearing impairment is not affect the ability to see, read and write people with disabilities deaf, so that these three abilities can be maximized.
